GrooveFXTerms Open DrumFX

Terms of use

These terms cover groovefx.app and its apps, DrumFX and BeatFX. They were last changed on 2 October 2026.

Using GrooveFX

GrooveFX's apps are free and run in your web browser. By using them you agree to these terms and to the way the privacy policy describes your information being handled. If you do not agree, please do not use the apps.

Your songs

  • DrumFX separates and writes down the drums of the audio files you import. This happens in your browser, and the files are not uploaded to GrooveFX.
  • Import only audio you have the right to use this way: music you own the rights to, music whose license allows it, or use your local law permits, such as private study and practice. You are responsible for what you import and for what you do with the results.
  • The backing tracks, drum tracks and scores made from someone else's recording remain subject to that recording's rights. Do not publish or sell them without permission.

What you make

The grooves, fills, lines and scores you write yourself are yours. GrooveFX claims no rights to them. They are kept in your browser, and they are not sent to GrooveFX unless you share them yourself, for example as a link.

Your account

Some features, such as writing and saving songs, ask you to sign in with Google. Keep access to your Google account safe, because whoever signs in with it can use your GrooveFX account. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms. You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time (see the privacy policy).

What not to do

  • Do not use the apps to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights.
  • Do not attack, overload or try to get around the security of the site, its server functions or its sign-in, and do not send it automated traffic beyond ordinary use.
  • Do not send false data to the usage log or try to reach other people's data.
  • Do not copy the apps or present them as your own.

Found a security problem? Please tell us first (see security.txt).

GrooveFX's own work

The apps, their code and design, the GrooveFX, DrumFX and BeatFX names and marks, the library of grooves and fills, and the demo songs belong to GrooveFX. You may use them within the apps for your own playing, practice and teaching. The drum samples and other open-source parts are used under their own licenses, credited in the footer of the site's pages and in each app's settings.

The service as it is

  • The apps are provided free and "as is". Drum separation and transcription are automatic and can be wrong. Treat a score as a first draft.
  • What you keep in your browser can be lost if you clear the site's data, switch devices or your browser removes it. Download the tracks and export the lines you want to keep.
  • We may change, add or remove features, or stop offering an app, at any time. The site may be unavailable at times.

Limits of liability

As far as the law allows, GrooveFX gives no warranty about the apps, and it is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, arising from their use. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or the rights you have as a consumer where you live.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, this page will show the new version and the date it changed. Continuing to use the apps after that means you accept the new terms. Questions go to [email protected].
